Directions:
·
Spray the
hair with water to catch any loose hairs and comb back the hair away from the
face and secure with grips.
·
Wrap a layer
of cling film over the head and pull tight. Make sure all of the hairline is
covered.
· Using multiple small bits of celotape, cover
the area of cling film to create a loose mould.
·
Using a permanent marker, mark on the
hairline with as much detail as possible to show the shape and direction.
·
Cover the
marker pen lines with tape to avoid any ink transfer.
·
Attach the
mould to the block using tape and pins.
·
Place the
lace onto the template/mould and block. Pin into place with (sewing) pins.
Secure at the front first to make sure the lace is flat. Also, ensure that the
holes of the lace go horizontal to the hairline.
·
To avoid any
gaping of the lace, pleat the lace where necessary and secure with pins. Make
sure pleats are not lying on the parting or hairline.
·
Place block
into the cradle to start the knotting.
·
Place a
coloured piece of paper under the lace so the holes are more visible.
·
Fold a lock
of hair to form a loop and dip into warm water to soften the hair.
·
Hook under
one hole (under one line of lace) and catch a hair from the loop.
·
Loop the
hair under the lace and drop the hair to the pend of the needle.
·
Catch the
strand again and pull through all the way to create the knot.
